Dave’s Family
So, the other day I was thinking to myself, and I said, “Self, is David Larson married? Does he have kids? What’s his deal?” Because I realized that while I know all about Dave’s political life, I know virtually nothing about his personal life. And really, since this man is asking us to vote for him, don’t we have a right to know a little about him?
So I headed on over to his campaign website to read up on him, because it wouldn’t be fair of me to criticize without knowing the facts right? (Don’t ever say I didn’t give the guy a fair shot!) After reading his entire website (took about 3 minutes… there isn’t much going on there), I have come to one conclusion: Dave is married. To whom? No idea. Kids? No idea. What’s going on here?
First we had the whole political party mess, and now we have Dave being very quiet about his “spouse” and family. What’s next? Can we get some straight talk from this guy about any issue at all?
Why would you need to know anything about his spouse? His spouse is not running. What do you know about the spouse of Whitman or Jerry Brown? What difference does it make?
Hi Bud. I don’t necessarily need to know much about his spouse. You are correct, his spouse is not running. However, when someone is so obviously hiding something about their spouse, it seems reasonable for me to ask, “What’s he hiding?” Maybe nothing. Maybe something. I don’t know. And that’s the point.
Say someone runs for Congress and his wife is a former lobbyist that was convicted of bribing a public official 10 years ago. Wouldn’t you agree that this is relevant to the election? The voters have a right to know. I’m not suggesting we need every detail of Dave’s family life, but I do think that the basics are relevant.
What about Neil Paple? He says he is in a relationship. What about the spouses of the other candidates? What do you know about them? What are they trying to hide?
